Sunaina, who had shown numerous promise in her early films, was in a temporary hiatus — only to go back with a few good projects including Rasu Madhuravan’s Pandi Oliperukki Nilayam. She acts opposite Sabarish of Markandeyen fame on this romantic comedy, which has Dindigul and Theni as its backdrop.
Rasu, who was hitherto specializing in family values, has gone in for a romantic tale laced with humour. Karunas appears in the most important role and the National Award winner, Thambi Ramaiah, plays a very important character.
Music is by Kaviperiyathambi, and going by the songs released recently, it looks as if Sunaina is taking the glam route again. Ask the chirpy girl if she desires to be identified as a glam girl, and she or he shoots back.
“I has been balancing off-beat (Vamsam) and glamour roles in my career. I'M from a theater background and prefer to act, emote and express. If there’s an actual need for glamour within the script, then I'VE no issues. PON isn't any different. Rasu sir has given me an alluring role with a large number of scope for performance. Yes, I'VE worn some glam outfits for the song sequences, which have been shot in Malaysia. After all, songs are a part of fantasy in a film,” she quips.
