Here’s one more name from the north who's eyeing south Indian films. Anjali Patil, who has done independent cinema like Delhi in a Day, is awaiting the discharge of her Telugu-Malayalam bilingual.“Acting came to me accidentally. I happened to be at an audition for an indie film, once I was studying drama direction. And then, because the saying goes, the remainder is history,” says Anjali.
The actress, whose Sri Lankan film might open the Toronto International Film Festival, could also be considering a couple of Tamil film offers that experience come her way. “One of them particularly is exciting and it again is a festival film. Though, there’s twice the responsibility on an actor after we do a movie in a language we don’t know,” she says.
