AR Rahman and Mani Ratnam are probably the most longest running music director-filmmaker combo, who've always produced hit music. Right from Rahman’s debut with Mani’s Roja, the pair has struck together for just about 20 years.Mani and Rahman is now back with Kadal, the director’s new film. Recently Rahman, flew right down to Thuthukudi and from there motored right down to Kadal location near coastal areas of Tiruchendur to have a discussion at the songs for the film.
Rahman and Mani took a break and glided by a ship into the ocean where they discussed the music for the film. Already two songs was recorded for the film one written by Vairamuthu and the opposite by his son Madhan Karky. Rahman has posted an image in their meeting within the high seas on Twitter.
It is the launch pad of Gautham son of popular romantic hero of 80’s Karthik.Remember it was Mani Ratnam who made Karthik popular as a romantic hero with films like Mounaragam and Agninakshtram?
Kadal can even see the comeback of Roja fame Aravind Swamy who was keeping clear of the arc lights for many years. Samantha is the heroine and the supporting cast includes Pasupathy, Lal, Thambi Ramaiah and Lakshmi Manchu.
