Dhanush director says he'll break jinx

Aanand Rai, the director of the hit film, Tanu Weds Manu and Raanjhana, Dhanush’s debut film in Bollywood says that he's confident that Dhanush will break the parable that South Indian actors are jinxed in terms of Bollywood. Heroines from the South like Hema Malini, Rekha and Sridevi have gone directly to become insanely popular whereas heroes have had less luck.

Dhanush’s director says that he has seen the National award winning actor’s films in Tamil and he has what it takes to make it big in Bollywood. Dhanush can be playing a country youth within the film and his character is an endearing person who would certainly hook up with the audience. Aanand said, “Dhanush goes to soften everyone’s heart within the role of this loveable guy from Varanasi. He has understood the soul of the script and the spirit of town. Now he's giving his heart into getting the nature right.”
