Censor Board threatened with A certificate for three

Sources say that the Censor Board officials threatened to certify 3 with a A certificate if some objectionable scenes weren't chopped off. The film made out of some very steamy scenes between Dhanush and Shruti Haasan and the Censor Officials wanted these scenes to be reduce if Aishwarya Dhanush was set on having a U certificate.Since a U certificate would mean entertainment tax sops, the director decided to scissor down those scenes. Following this, 3 was awarded with a U certificate, say inside sources.
