Mani Ratnam aims for Deepavali release

With Ravanan creating a lesser impact at the audience director Mani Ratnam is charging his battery for his next film Kadal. The shots are on fast track and the unit feels the film may hit the screens in Deepavali season. After taking a large number of time for roping within the hero and the heroine, Mani is making his efforts to finish the movie on the earliest not later than Deepavali.

The cast includes Gautham son of Karthik, Samantha, Arvindsamy doing the daddy role. With music from AR Rahman and camera from Rajeev menon Mani is coping with a sensitive sea shore theme. Currently he's at the shores of Tiruchendur and Thootukudi shooting the backdrop of sea. The primary slots were shot in Manappad and continued within the adjoining locations. There's a smooth run of the shooting after the turmoil from the FEFSI strike.

Mani has shot a few of his special effect shots for song sequences there, said the crew. He has engaged technicians from Hong Kong and has planned to have the following schedules in Kerala and Munnar. If everything goes well, he'll complete the film and make it ready for this Deepavali, said sources with regards to him. Writer Jeyamohan is taking over the responsibility of debate and he's injecting the native touch.
