Thaandavam Movie Online Music Review

Thaandavam marks the approaching together of a few of the Deivathirumagal team. G.V.Prakash reaches 25 films with this flick. The music launch was held in a grand event at the 15th of August and now onto the music reviewAdhigaalai Pookkal…G.V.Prakash

This is a brief piece nonchalantly sung by GV. Just after we expect more, the song draws to a detailed. The voice takes prominence on this song with the percussions being kept subtle. A heavy Ilaiyaraja touch pervades.

A poem for you…

Lilting piano notes and a small flute bit are a part of this theme that is according to the tune of Adhigaalai Pookkal. It's too short to make an excellent impact but is neatly done.

Anicham Poovazhagi…G.V.Prakash, Chinnaponnu &Velmurugan

This is a folksy celebratory number with a tune which isn't new. The percussions has been kept typically rustic. This will rely on the visuals to offer that extra push while the tune as such is a happy one. The strings and flute that come in the course of the first interlude have a pleasant ring while the nadaswaram also has a prominent presence.

Oru Paadhi Kadhavu…Haricharan, Vandhana

Haricharan starts this song elegantly while Vandhana matches as much as make this a fair duet. The humming bits attempt to infuse more feeling to the song. The string interludes before the second one stanza stand out while the tune falls somewhere between Akkam Pakkam from Kireedom and Enadhuyire from Bheema. Would hit the charts soon!

Shiva Thaandavam…S.P.B

This was the vociferous song sung by SPB that played together with the trailer. The lyrics discuss all of the ‘thaandavams’ and we will expect this one to play together with some crucial scenes within the movie. The percussions on this song are really well done (mridangam, kanjeera etc.) while only the legendary SPB can infuse such a lot power and expression through his vocals.

UyirinUyire…  Saindhavi, Sathya Prakash

Another pleasant melody that has a Hindustani touch in addition; GV has proven his prowess at Hindustani touches before. The flute makes a satisfying presence on this song too like a few of GV’s previous chartbusters while the tabla also goes in sync with the song’s mood. Saindhavi is delightful on this number!  Though traces of ‘Pookul Pookkum Tharunam’ might come for your mind, this song has its own merits too.

Will you be there…  Alyss, Nithya Maria

This one is peppy! The guitar is actually refreshing and the vocals are anglicized probably to compare Amy Jackson. Seems to be a breezy number and it'll pick up with good visuals.

Yaaradi Mohini…Rahul Nambiar

The song is arranged like a club party number while the vocals are youthful. Another peppy number to round off the album. The rap bits don’t make much of a mark.

Verdict: This being G.V.Prakash’s 25th album, expectation was high. Though definitely a fair job, it doesn’t match as much as probably the most young composer’s previous works like Mayakkam Enna and Aadukalam.
