Sundarapandian Movie Online – Music Review

Sundarapandian

Sasikumar is back in action because the actor and producer of this flick which co-stars Lakshmi Menon of ‘Kumki’ fame. NR Raghunanthan of ‘Thenmerku Paruvakaatru’ fame has composed the songs. Has he delivered the goods?

Kondaadum Manasu …Singer: Anand AravindakshanLyrics: Mohan Rajan

The album starts with a country kuthu number which doesn’t have anything new to supply. It seems like a standard hero introduction song with some glorifying and upbeat lyrics. The native percussions are expectedly loud while the nadaswaram is prominent. The lead singer is spirited while the feminine chorus is clichéd.

Rekkai Mulaiththen …  Singers: G.V.Prakash Kumar and Shreya GhoshalLyrics: Madhan Karky

This duet is fast moving and decent to hear. The harmonica and flute instrumentals add a cute little touch to this peppy number which has a likeable percussive loop too. G.V.Prakash’s name at the credits becomes the USP of the number; his high pitch portions stand out. Might visit the charts.

Nenjukkulle …Singer: SaindhaviLyrics: Thamarai

The percussions of this song are similar to ‘Thom Karuvil’ from Rahman’s Star and ‘Veppamaram’ from Saamy. The lyrics speak about a female’s craving for her love. Saindhavi is adequate for this track while the violin instrumentals stand out.

Kadhal Vandhu …Singer: HaricharanLyrics: Na. Muthukumar

This is another love song with rustic percussions and local instruments like nadaswaram. Nothing new to supply here too with Haricharan singing at the next pitch in comparison to his previous numbers. Run-of-the mill finish to the album.

Verdict: Except the track sung by G.V.Prakash and written by Madhan Karky, the remainder of the songs are nothing much to rave about. On screen, Sasikumar’s screen presence can assist the songs a bit.
