Synopsis: Valarmathi (Sunaina), a woman from a rich family, falls in love with Pandi (Sabarish), who rents out mikes and speakers in Dindigul. When the stage is ready for his or her marriage, an accident affects Pandi’s senses. Movie Review: Pandi Oli Perukki Nilayam is a film that may be certain to become well-liked by TV programmes that telecast comedy clips from movies. With a cast containing names such asKarunas, Soori, Thambi Ramaiah and Singam Puli, you'll expect rather a lot of fireworks on screen and so they don’t disappoint.
The story revolves across the lives of ‘Mike set’ Pandi, his rival Karunas, push-cart vendor Muthaiah (Thambi Ramaiah) and his helper Soori (Soori). It’s fun riot initially with everyone picking at the other, and to start with it even seems that the director came up with a narrative simply to fill the blanks in between the comedy scenes.
The screenplay lacks fluidity because the plot often takes a backseat to let the comedy track play out. The non-linear narrative, long-drawn comic scenes and the sub-plot of Muthaiah and his family hurts the movie.
In the midst of all this, Sunaina impresses together with her acting. She is a treat to observe and her performance proves that she is destined for bigger and higher roles. Sabarish, son of stunt choreographer FEFSI Vijayan, does an okay job but must work on his reactions within the emotional scenes. But he's in his elements within the stunt scenes, proving that he's a chip of the old block.
Although the movie is greater than two-and-a-half-hours long, way to the comedy track it feels to be time well spent.
