Being a princess isn't a very simple job. And Shriya, who plays just that during her forthcoming Tamil-Kannada bilingual Chandra, will vouch for a similar. The actress needed to perform a Kalari fight sequence for the film, and says wielding the sword is an excessively difficult task! She wrote on her micro-blogging page, “Shot for a Kalari (fight sequence) at a lovely temple, bare foot! Those swords are heavy and painful. I PONDER how those fighters won battles and conquered kingdoms!”
Director Roopa elaborates, “We shot the sequence near a monument in Nandi Gram in Bangalore for over two days. This scene comes at a juncture when Shriya, who plays a princess, signals Prem, a master in Kalaripayattu, for a duel. It’s more romantic than aggressive, and the 2 actors have done a perfect job.”
