She may need played numerous roles in her Hindi and Tamil films, but Neetu Chandra says portraying the role of a village belle, that too, in a Greek film, was an exciting experience. The actress, who plays the lead in Kyriakos Tofaridis’s Home Sweet Home, says, “I play an Indian girl who's being pursued by three men. We decided to head completely rural with the look, and everybody at the sets totally loved the best way I’ve been presented. I AM GETTING to wear a bindi, nose ring and typical north Indian attire. It’s a unique experience playing a woman from a small village in a foreign language film.”
The film is slated to hit screens in December. “It could be screened in different festivals before that,” she says and adds, “I’ve dubbed for myself in Greek for this film. After learning Tamil, I LOCATE it easier to talk in other languages. Greek has no tongue-twisters, and is more like English.”
