Rahman taps the artist in you: Srinivas

Having been within the playback singing field for just about two decades, this singer sure has an in-depth knowledge of music, and has made many great friendships along the way, most notably with A R Rahman.“Rahman could be very liberal as a music director, and offers an artist total freedom to display his versatility as a singer,” Srinivas says.

“He has given birth to several great singers within the industry, and was my pillar of strength for the last 18 years. He's hugely answerable for who I'M within the industry today,” he adds admiringly.

Srinivas also terms late ghazal maestro Mehndi Hassan as considered one of his biggest influences as a singer.

“Mehdi sir is the God of ghazals, and his totally unpretentious variety of singing is something that can not be emulated by us mere mortals,” he points out humbly.
