Sundar C going strong

Popular director – actor Sundar C is a cheerful man in this day and age. The filmmaker, who started his career with Ullathai Alli Tha, is understood for his comedy capers and he followed it up with several blockbusters.He even worked with the likes of Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan before creating a successful foray as an actor. Sundar C has played the lead in a couple of films before returning to his passion – to direct movies. His comeback venture as director Kalakalappu starring Vimal, Shiva, Anjali and Oviya went directly to become an enormous hit. Currently busy directing Vishal for Madha Gaja Raja (MGR), Sundar C’s venture as actor in Murattu Kalai, hit the screens last week. Says Sundar C: ‘ It's been a good looking year for me. People have welcomed Kalakalappu. Plans are directly to do a sequel for Kalakalappu.’

On Murattu Kalai, he says, ‘ it was a challenging role. To play a personality made famous by Rajnikanth isn't any easy task. Thankfully, audience is appreciative of my efforts’.
