Ajith, Kamal’s loss, Suriya’s gain!

The actor has bagged Thuppariyum Anandhan, a tale about Detective AnandFirst, it’ll be a cop named Duraisingham. And next at the cards can be a detective named Anandhan. Yes, Suriya is ready to play a detective in a period flick titled Thuppariyum Anandhan for which he teams up with director Gautham Menon after an opening of 4 years.In a release, Gautham stated that every one cliches related to creating a period film could be broken with this effort. “This could be an action adventure in a modern styled period film and I’m excited Suriya is on board,” he stated. The director, who has Yohan with Ilayathalapathy Vijay lined up next, is probably going to begin filming the Suriya-starrer by early next year. When CT quizzed Gautham if he plans to make the film as a franchise, he said, “Yes, it'll be.”Suriya said, “When Gautham and that i come together, people expect romance, great songs and action.” The film is claimed to be a modern styled period film.”

Interestingly, it was earlier said that the director was in talks with Kamal Haasan (who played a cop in his Vettaiyadu Vilayaadu) and Ajith to play the role of Anandhan but both had not evinced interest in it back then. Now, it looks as if their loss is Suriya’s gain.
