When Billa got into action!

The stunt specialists, who worked at the Ajith-starrer, divulge to us that every one the sequences within the film are ‘real’ onesActor Ajith’s forthcoming flick, Billa II, produced by In Entertainment and directed by Chakri Toleti, is touted to be an action entertainer. The film reportedly boasts of several stunt sequences that won't only be mind-blowing, but additionally take action sequences in Tamil films to a brand new level altogether. With three top stunt choreographers, two from abroad and one from Kollywood, engaged on these scenes, it looks as if the audience may have so much to seem forward to.

Kecha Khamphakdee, who part-choreographed the climax sequences at the side of award-winning stuntman Stefan Richter, says, “What makes these fight scenes within the film so special is the truth that they were performed by amazing talents. It’s impossible to get the suitable impact during action scenes if the actors aren't good. In Billa II, everyone was fantastic to mention the lead. While Ajith’s moves are sharp and powerful, Vidyut’s skills in martial arts and acrobatics proved handy.”

He adds, “We needed to strive hard while filming in Georgia. The elements was extremely cold and we were faced with snowstorms while we were almost through our schedule. Our muscles had become stiff from the cold and jumping and kicking were almost impossible tasks to accomplish. But Ajith and Vidyut totally pulled it off.”

K Rajasekhar, who choreographed the action sequences in Hyderabad and Goa, tells us that one of the crucial highlights of those stunt sequences will be the way it's been conceived. He adds, “Usually, when a person punches another for films, we sync the sound even before his hand touches the other’s cheek. But in Billa II, every kick, every punch and each slap is real. Be it the cycle-chasing scene or a street fight, the artists really fought one another. Of course, we were careful that nobody got hurt. And the truth that the actors, including Ajith, didn’t mind going all out to get it right, helped us.”

The team is chalking out an inventory of heroines who would fit the role to the T. One of the crucial names being tossed around are that of Anushka, Tamannaah, Trisha and Ileana. But the. actresses haven’t been approached yet. Once Simbu finishes work on other projects, a last decision could be arrived upon.”

After they were discussing names, one of the most first choices was Gandhikrishna, as he’s written the script.”

When we contacted Gandhikrishna, he said, “It’s true that the producers have approached me recently to shoot this film and we’re understanding the modalities currently. If everything falls in place and Vikram sir’s dates will also be worked out, I'LL BE all for taking it up.”

However, the present director, Kannan had a unique story to inform. He said, “All is easily with the project. We've completed 25 per cent of it and I’ll be shooting the remainder of it once Vikram gets done along with his current assignments.” Karikalan revolves across the man who built probably the most first dams within the country. It's said that the period flick is heavy on special effects because it is hard to truly re-create the era that Karikalan lived in.

Producer clarifiesWhen contacted, S S Vasan, some of the film’s producers, clarified that director Kannan will certainly be within the film. However, the change that they’re planning is replacing cinematographer Karthik with Rathnavelu aka Randy. He added that there'll be a couple of changes within the technical side as well.

‘I haven’t been training Tulasi’

says actress Karthika, whose younger sister debuts in Mani Ratnam’s Kadal

Karthika Nair is nervous, not as a result of any of her films, but since her younger sister, Tulasi, is making her tinseltown debut through director Mani Ratnam’s Kadal. “Tulasi is at school X. But for a Mani Ratnam film, she would have given filmdom a miss this year, especially since she has to present her best on the board exams,” says Karthika, adding, “But who doesn’t wish to join this kind of dream debut, with among the best directors of all time helming the project, and music maestro A R Rahman setting its tunes? Right now, Tulasi is in Chennai, attending the workshop for the film’s actors.”

So what’s the workshop all about? “Tulasi is being trained in dance, theatre, and of course, acting, besides dialogue delivery. With Mani uncle and Suhasini aunty taking good care of her like their very own child, there’s no use to fret if she’ll get her moves right or not,” says Karthika, “Honestly, I haven’t been training Tulasi before she takes her first step in filmdom. My mom (actress Radha) didn’t spoon feed me before I made my debut either! She wanted me to be at my natural best; I WOULD LIKE the similar to happen for Tulasi.”

Nagulan gets a song in his name

It’s a peppy, yet melodious number, and can be picturised on both Nagulan and the film’s heroine, Mrudhula.”

Apart from Andrea, Simbu has also sung a track within the album. The thrill is, the makers are interested in getting Kamal Haasan in addition to render a bunch in it.

Taapsee dropped from MGR

Well, Taapsee and Anjali have been finalized for Sundar C’s next movie with Vishal tentatively titled Madha Gaja Raja (MGR). Though Taapsee had tweeted she had date issues and needed to opt out, the most recent buzz is that she was replaced within the project with Varalaxmi.According to a source within the unit, Taapsee were signed on or even allotted dates from June 25 to July 10 for the shoot in Palani. The actress then, apparently, wanted a couple of days off within the first week of July to advertise her Hindi flick, Chashme Badhoor.

“People from her team told the filmmakers that she wouldn't board the flight unless she was given a couple of days off,” alleges the source, adding, “How can any artist do that once the schedule was set with everyone?”

And what’s worse, the source adds, is that the actress also apparently called comedian Santhanam and asked him to allot the similar dates as her in August in order that she alone won’t be held liable for any schedule change.

“This is totally unethical and unprofessional behaviour on her part. Is she using Tamil cinema as a stop-gap arrangement to make it big in Bollywood?” the source states.

When we contacted director Sundar, he refused to touch upon anything except saying, “Yes, Anjali and Varalaxmi are a part of my film.”
