Item girl turned character artiste Suja’s image makeover seems to have worked in her favour.

After shedding 10 kilos and changing her name to Suja Varunee, the actress have been receiving good offers.

She was roped in for Tollywood flick Gundello Kodari within the crucial role of a bangle vendor, by producer Lakshmi Manchu.The movie, a love adventure according to the 1986 floods of the River Godavari, is being directed by Kumar Nagendra. While Aadhi and Taapsee play the lead pair, Lakshmi Manchu might be seen in a very important role.

Sources say that Charmee and Deeksha Seth were initial contenders for Suja’s role. But director Kumar wanted someone who could dance well so he chose Suja after seeing her new slim avatar.

Apparently, Suja’s sequences will appear within the flashback portions with Aadhi. A visibly excited Suja says, “I just completed my portions at Rajamundhry and it was a mind-blowing experience.

I am sure audiences will appreciate my performance. I consider it an honour to sing and dance to the songs of maestro Ilayaraja sir.”
