Noted avant-garde director Anurag Kashyap is a contented man.
Three of his films Gangs of Wasseypur (Part I&II) and Peddlers have made it to the distinguished 65th Cannes Film Festival this year on the competetive section.
Anurag Kashyap’s ambitious two-part directorial venture Gangs of Wasseypur, which nearly runs for 5 hours, could be screened on the Cannes Director’s Fortnight while his home production Peddlers, directed by debutant Vasan Bala, is part of the Critics Week, a parallel component of the distinguished Cannes International Film Festival.
Meanwhile actress Reema Sen, Kollywood glamour heroine who plays a unconditionally deglamourized girl Diana within the film set in Bihar’s coal mafia land may be very serious about it.She is planning to visit Cannes for the sector premiere of the film on May 22.
GV Prakash who has provided music for the film has tweeted: “Gangs of Wasseypur selected for Cannes Film Festival. This can be a proud moment for me. It's one good reason behind me to be present at Cannes.”
