Famous playback singer, KS Chitra who lost her daughter, Nandana in a sad drowning accident in Dubai has started the “Snehanandana Charitable Trust” in association with a Malayalam channel, ACV. The singer said there are many singers and musicians who're unable to make ends meet after they become older and are reduced to a poverty stricken state where they're unable to get even basic necessities like food and medicines.
The aim of the Trust is to trace down such individuals and help them get on their feet. Already two deserving beneficiaries has been found and they'll take delivery of Rs. 3000 as a monthly pension. Kerala Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the trust. This may increasingly be followed by some entertainment programmes provided by the leading playback singers.
