Asin says no to Lingusamy

Lingusamy is planning to remake his Arya-Madhavan starrer Vettai in Hindi. Regarding this he had approached Asin to reprise the role of Sameera Reddy, who played the wife of Madhavan and elder sibling of Amala Paul within the film. But Asin has turned down the offer.

Asin said, “Right now I’m not able to soak up films that experience multiple heroines. I definitely cannot do the role of an elder sister. And that i even have some date issues,” justifying her decision to show down Lingusamy.

Gautham Menon to supply reality shows

Gautham Menon’s Photon Kathaas Productions, by which AR Rahman is an advisor, is foraying into TV content. They've tied up with tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi’s GloboSport to supply Sitaara, a reality TV show for South India’s next top actress.

Sitaara might be produced in all four South Indian languages (Tamil, Telugu,Kannada and Malayalam). Photon Kathaas in an announcement released on London Stock Exchange’s AIM exchange, where it's listed has stated it.

The statement quoted the company’s CEO Venkat Somasundaram as saying, “It is a transparent example of our stated objective of manufacturing and exploiting adiverse portfolio of South Indian content across multiple formats and languages.”"

Mahesh Manjrekar is Ajith’s enemy!

Myskkin appeals, Ameer clarifies

Billa 2 was shot at Likani Palace

Ajith’s Chakri Toleti directed Billa 2 shoot was held at Likani Palace, President of Georgia’s summer retreat. It was the primary Indian film to be shot there.

Likani Palace shooting needed to be reshot as a result of weather problems. Says a production unit member of Billa 2 : “‘ It was one hell of an experience for all the cast crew to shoot in Sub Zero temperatures. However it was fun and though it was very difficult to shoot because it snowed, the snow added to all the look of the film and it'll look fabulous on screen.

Billa 2 is now within the final stages of post-production. The film have to be ready for censor within the next couple of days. The film is slated to release on June 15.

It can be Anushka for Ajith

Siruthai Siva, who's having a great time enjoying the success of Daruvu, has disclosed that his next project with Ajith within the lead might not be a remake of Daruvu. He says that it's his original script and that it's going to be a mass entertainer. But he hasn’t given up the speculation of creating the Telugu super hit in Tamil. He admits that he was getting offers from both Kollywood and Bollywood to remake the film. But he hasn’t taken any decision on that front.

When asked in regards to the rumour of Anushka not playing the lead in his next with Ajith, he says that there are few issues of the dates, but he's sure it may be sorted out. The film will go on floor after Ajith completes his shoot for the Vishnuvardhan project.

Karthika opts out of MGR

Jiiva is disgusted!

Jiiva was getting back from Tirupathi to Chennai when he found the street blocked by agitators. These people had taken to the streets to protest some political issues in Andhra Pradesh. The police came and cleared the world however the road was blocked again slightly further. This time the police said they were helpless because it was not of their jurisdiction.

Traffic came to a standstill for the following few hours and Jiiva was outraged. He said that as usual only the innocent public are hurt in these situations. Two old people needed to be taken to the hospital. Worse, a mother and her newborn who had just been discharged from the hospital needed to be helped out of a share auto and the poor woman could barely stand. Jiiva posted photos and vented his anger in a social networking site to register his protest and to extend awareness about such issues.

Rajini’s blockbuster movie Baasha is dubbed and can be released in Hindi soon. As a precursor, the Hindi audio release was held recently. Although Rajini couldn't make it to the audio release event, the organizers said that he had sent personal messages to the team at the occasion.

The audio launch of the Karthi – Pranitha starrer Saguni is slated for June 2nd.

‘Aravaan’ heroine to wed?

Archana Kavi is laughing at media reports, which suggested that she was set to marry soon. “I request those spreading this rumour to determine an acceptable guy for me,” says the ‘Aravaan’ girl.

“I am yet to encounter my more or less man. Although I achieve this within the near future, I WILL BE ABLE TO take some three to four years to go into wedlock. So there's no question of me marrying someone soon,” she explains.

Vishwaroopam to be unveiled at IIFA

It is bureaucratic. Kamal Haasan’s much awaited thriller Vishwaroopam, directed and co-produced by the actor, could be showcased on the 13th Videocon IIFA Weekend in Singapore.Vishwaroopam, a bi-lingual in both Hindi and Tamil, is considered one of Kamal’s biggest projects till date.

The Hindi version, titled Vishwaroop could be unveiled on June 8 on the Raffles City Convention Centre, giving the media key glimpses from the film.

The film features Kamal Haasan within the lead along side Rahul Bose, Andrea Jeremiah, Pooja Kumar, Jaideep Ahlawat, Samrat Chakrabarti, Zarina Wahab and a unique appearance by Oscar nominee Shekhar Kapur.

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have composed the film’s musical score and noted lyricist Javed Akhtar has penned the lyrics.

“IIFA is among the biggest events for the Indian Film Industry. This year is especially special for my film and me,” said Kamal. “It is a brilliant opportunity to provide my film on this kind of large and international scale. Actor Dilip passes away

Actor Dilip, who shot to fame with Varumayin Niram Siavappu, died today at his hometown Mysore. The actor is understood for his performances in Visu’s Samsaram Adhu Minsaram, Valli, Thoongathey Thambi Thoongathey and lots of more.

On Sunday another blood donation camp is being organized at a maternity hospital in North Madras by 150 people.”

The stress of the fans appears to be on inculcating a way of sportsmanship amongst the youth in step with the views of Karthi and so a football tournament and a Kabaddi match has been organized in North Madras for youngsters.

AR Rahman in Universal studio with family

It looks as if AR Rahman, is earning a well deserved break together with his family.

Sneha Back in action.

For Sneha who got married last week to Prasanna, it was back to work under the arc lights. No honeymoon for her, as she has to finish work for her Haridas, a movie just about her heart. The film is directed by GNR Kumaravelan of Ninaithale Inikkum fame and has Kishore and Sneha within the lead with music by Vijay Antony.

Sneha could be very pleased with the role she plays within the film. The movie is ready an eight-year-old boy’s view on life and his father. Sneha plays a pivotal role, that's crucial to the film. A FEW days of her shoot and the Haridas shoot can be over.

It is being made as a quickie because the shooting started only this year March and the film could be ready for release by July.

Remember that Sneha had opted out of Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiyaan for Haridas, as she was extremely excited upon hearing the script and accepted the role immediately. She had reportedly said that out of the 80 odd scripts she had heard, none had excited her more.

‘Maatraan’ team faces the warmth

You can take the headline in its literal meaning, because the cast and crew of Suriya’s forthcoming film ‘Maatraan’ suffered from heat waves once they were shooting near the India-Pakistan border recently.

“Some important portions of the movie were recently shot in Bhuj near the international border. No special permission was required to carry the shooting there because it is a secure zone. However, the unit suffered from the scorching summer heat,” sources say.

“Director K V Anand, Suriya and others had a difficult time under the sun. However the thorough professionals took up the challenge and completed the task, that too well ahead than planned,” they add.

Suriya in Settai sets!

Sivakarthikeyan’s rural comedy

Sivakarthikeyan’s Pandiraj directed Marina was an enjoyable comedy that hit the buls eye on the box-office. He started of as a Radio Jockey, and is now probably the most wanted actors in Kollywood.

Sivakarthikeyan’s is set along with his next film Anjaneyaa Movies’ Manam Kothiy Paravai ( MKP) that's also the comeback film of director Ezhil, who has also co -produced the film together with his two friends Ranjiv Menon and M Satish.

Says Ezhilabout his MKP scheduled to release on June 1, and coming several years after the discharge of his last Jayam Ravi starrer Deepavali : “ MKP is a whole family entertainer to be able to keep people of every age in splits during. D Imman has given the music and we've a bunch of comedy artists which come with Singampuli, Srinath, Chams, Venniradai Murthy and Ravi Mariya in an excessively different role.”

Arvind Swamy, who has returned to acting along with his mentor Mani Ratnam’s Kadal, is predicted to add as a cop on this untitled film. This project will go on floor from 30th May in Mumbai.

3 to screen in Ny Indian Film Festival

Aishwarya Dhanush is excited and smiling.

Her directorial debut starring Dhanush and Sruthi Haasan 3 have been chosen for the distinguished Big apple Indian Film Festival from May 23 to 27.

3 was chosen at the side of three other Tamil films Azhagarsamiyin Kudirai directed by Suseenthiran, Aadukalam directed by Vetrimaran and SM Raju directed Varnam.

Aishwarya can be leaving for brand new York Indian Film Festival today night. She spoke to tamilkey.com: “I am so happy and excited and view it an honour that my debut as a director has paid off well. I'M looking ahead to be on the festival from 23rd to 27th in Big apple and spend time with my family friends there.”

STR parties in Hyderabad

​Last evening STR flew to Hyderabad for the birthday bash of his friend Telugu actor Manoj Manchu. STR later tweeted that he had a “blast on the party and he was going back to Chennai.”

The star who was in Hong Kong later caught up with some Tamil films in Chennai. STR tweeted, “Was just catching up with recent Tamil films which released this year and loved Kadhalil Sodhapuvadhu Yeppadi (KSY). Had such a lot fun.”

STR also made it some degree to congratulate actor Siddharth on his performance within the film and told him: “Brother I loved KSY. Great job you rocked as usual and congrats to the entire team”.
