Kamal and Mahesh to clash?

It seems like Kamal Haasan’s Viswaroopam and Tollywood Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu are ready to battle it out on the Box Office.A slew of Telugu films is lined up for release in January and can be giving a tricky competition to Kamal Haasan’s much-anticipated Viswaroopam (the Telugu release).In the meantime, Chiranjeevi’s Nayak, Venkatesh’s Shadow and Mahesh Babu’s Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu also are gearing up for a January release. Will these kinds of films get theatres for release or will the Telugu version get postponed? We will be able to must wait and wait for that.

Neerparavai made me a confident actor: Sunaina

She’s back at the scene and the way! With a wonderfully realistic performance in Seenu Ramasamy’s Neerparavai, produced by Red Giant Movies, Sunaina has proved once more that she’s an actor to observe out for. Picky about her roles, the actor talks in regards to the experience of working in Neerparavai and how the film has changed her..

What’s your role like within the film?I play Esther, an orphan Christian girl who works in a Church, in a fishing village set during 1980’s. She falls in love with a neighborhood drunken, wastrel played by Vishnu. How their life changes is the story.

It’s a realistically portrayed character, different from the standard masala fare. How did you prepare for it?Yes, that’s true, its different from the jobs I’ve done up to now. So I USED TO BE nervous. Seenu sir had only told me to wind up on shoot and take it from there. I had no preparation of any kind. My biggest fear was that I had no reference for this sort of character from the 80’s. My eyes needed to do all of the talking mostly. Dialogues are less within the film. So I USED TO BE confused. But Seenu is a brilliant director. He changed me completely. He just told me to not act, and follow my heart in every scene. He said my feelings would show in my eyes. And that’s exactly what I did. Such a lot so, I BEGAN crying within the scenes with none glycerin.

So had the film changed you in any way?Yes! My entire view of acting has changed post Neerparavai! It has made me more confident as an actor. From now on, I WILL BE ABLE TO never be nervous before a movie. And that’s because Seenu sir taught me to feel deeply what I'M doing and get completely into the character.

How was it working with Vishnu?Vishnu is a superb actor. Something we share in common is that like me, he too takes his work very seriously. In fact, he plays a drunk within the film or even after the shot, if I spoke to him,  he would still be in drunk like state, talking with a slur! I USED TO BE amazed to peer his dedication to the nature to make it real! I USED TO BE really happy to work with someone like him!

Neerparavai Movie Online – Review

That director Seenu Ramasamy feels genuine affection for his characters is obvious in every scene of Neerparavai. He knows them well, he’s acquainted with their lives, and he embraces their quirks and their contradictions. The film is ready against sea backdrop and is ready fishermen community living within the coast of Rameswaram.

It is a sad tale of affection weaved intrinsically into the film’s plot and in addition makes a speciality of a significant relevant issue. Never portraying any of its protogonists as villains, the film carefully avoids judging its characters, and therein lies its strength.

Arulappasamy (Vishnu) is a tender man who's an alcoholic and wastrel who's a continuing embarrassment for his hardworking parents (Ram and Saranya) . Esther (Sunaina ) is an orphan girl who's adopted by a nun and she or he stays within the church. Arulappan slowly gets interested in Esther and his love for her, changes him. He gives up drinking and needs to work in order that he can marry Esther. However the local fishermen don't allow him to enter the ocean. The young man as a result of his determination buys a ship , marries his love and life is all rosy, till fate intervenes.

The film keeps you engaged not such a lot at the strength of its plot, because it does for the interesting characters who inhabit it. Assembling a rock-solid cast of actors who appear to effortlessly inhabit their roles, the director strikes gold together with his supporting players too and it’s difficult to show who's better than whom.

Of the leads, Vishnu does well with minimal dialogue, counting on his eyes and his expressions to do the communicating, especially in those scenes with Sunaina where he’s expected to strum up romance and chemistry.

Sunania is a revelation and he or she delivers a measured performance. It's perhaps her best ever up to now and he or she leaves a long-lasting impression. Ram, Saranya , Thambi Ramadurai, Azhagamperumal, Samuthirakani or even Vadivukarasi in that small role is phenomenal. However, Nandita Das doesn’t have much to do.

The film also benefits enormously from Balasubramaniam’s remarkable cinematography, as his camera captures shots of the ocean in all its glory and the sheer visual delight of the Para Para Para.. song picturisation will stay to your mind. Raghunathan’s songs and background score is commendable.

On the downside, the primary half is just a little slow and the climax is contrived. But at the whole, this can be a moving drama so as to undoubtedly leave you with a lump for your throat. And flicks like this are hard to find.

Verdict: Good

Meera is back

Meera Jasmine, who made her Kollywood debut with Run opposite Madhavan went directly to become probably the most sought-after-actresses. Badri, who was some of the heroes in Mamas’ eminently forgettable Cinema Company, plays the male lead. The shooting is on in Kochi.

Maattrraan completed a run of fifty days on the box-office

Suriya’s Maattrraan, directed by KV Anand has completed a run of fifty days on the box-office. The movie is running in a couple of screens around the state despite the influx of the brand new Diwali releases.Kajal Aggarwal also had a prominent role on this movie which featured Suriya within the role of conjoined twins. The movie handled themes like performance enhancing drugs, genetic sciences and baby designing. Harris Jayaraj composed some hit tunes for the album.

Team Maattrraan should feel satisfied on the outcome on the box-office.

Santhanam is back as hero

K-town’s hottest star, Santhanam is ready to play the lead after a long time. He played the hero in Arai En 305il Kadavul. Now, it has come to our knowledge that the actor have been signed for the Tamil remake of SS Rajamouli’s Maryada Ramanna.PVP Cinemas holds the remake rights and can produce the film. R Kannan, who's currently directing Settai, the remake of Delhi Belly, will helm the megaphone for this project.

Siva Karthikeyan was also considered for the lead role, but finally it has come right down to Santhanam. The Hindi remake of the film, Son of Sardaar, starring Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha and Sanjay Dutt hit the screens recently and is doing great business within the north.

Manisha Koirala hospitalized

Manisha Koirala, once the darling of cinema buffs around the country was hospitalized since Wednesday. The 42 year old fell unconscious suddenly and was rushed to the hospital. The doctors are giving her an intensive check up and it's expected that she's going to be released once the medical reports are out.

Manisha worked with Mani Ratnam for the super hit film, Bombay and Uyire. Shankar cast this Nepalese beauty in his blockbuster movie Indian opposite Kamal Haasan and later opposite Arjun in Mudhalvan. She was also Rajini’s heroine in Baba.

Recently the actress was seen within the Dhanush starrer, Maapillai which was a remake of a Rajini film of the similar name. Manya as she is affectionately called played the domineering mother-in-law’s role. Behindwoods wishes her a speedy recovery.

Friday Fury – November 30

The last Friday of November sees a clash between two Tamil films which were getting rave reviews at the preview circuit. Today (Nov 30) Bollywood’s mostpopular actor on the Chennai box-office, Aamir Khan’s Talaash may be releasing big .It is a multiplex clash between Seenu Ramasamy’s critically acclaimed Red Giant produced Neerparavai and debutant Balaji’s mentioned Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom (NKPK).

Neerparavai has clearly an edge as Seenu Ramasamy is a noted director and the film is being aggressively marketed by Udhayanidhi Stalin. He has managed to get the most productive of screens with prime shows at ‘plexes.

Meanwhile Aamir Khan whose films traditionally do rather well in Chennai from his Lagaan days has his new thriller Talaash opening in 12 screens. There may be lot of pressure in multiplexes to get tickets for Talaash, which have been sold out for the weekend.

Nithya Menen gets busy

Nithya Menen is currently playing the lead role in director Nagashekhar’s Kannada film Mynaa. The Veppam girl she plays an assertive young girl who faces some physical challenges. Chethan, who shot to fame with Aa Dinagalu, plays the male lead.Cinematography is by Sathya Hegde, who's known for his brilliant camera work in outdoor shoots. Music is by Jassie Gift of the hit Lajjavathiye fame.Sarath Kumar plays a police officer within the film, who helps Nithya’s character pop out of the trauma.

Anjali has done an item number in Hari’s Singam 2, as we had reported earlier. Hari is understood for his fast working style and he's known to be a strict disciplinarian at the sets. It takes numerous good work to delight the director.Anjali, we hear, completed her work for this item primary day sooner than expected and managed to get some good words from her director. Nayanthara was speculated to do that song but she was replaced by Anjali.

Singam 2, as we all know is the sequel to the successful Singam and stars Hansika and Anushka opposite Suriya. Santhanam and Vivek also are a part of this commercial action entertainer.

Jiiva and Santhanam to copy the SMS magic

Jiiva and Santhanam make an excellent combo and ensure that the comedy and fun that they devise on screen is pleasant. This combo has worked big time in films like Siva Manasula Sakthi. They're working together within the upcoming December release, Neethane En Ponvasantham as well.It looks as if fans might be seeing more of this duo within the near future because the director of Singam Puli, Sai Ramani has decided to cast Jiiva and Santhanam together in his next project besides. It have to be noted that Jiiva and Santhanam paired up within the earlier Singam Puli as well.

The other cast and crew details of this new film are yet to be known. We’ll keep you posted.

Fresh face for Vikram Prabhu

Vikram Prabhu have been shooting for his next flick with director Saravanan within the city.The film titled Ivan Veramathiri gets a fresh face on board. Surabhi, a Delhi based girl is cast opposite Vikram within the film. Saravanan says, “Surabhi plays the role of an urban girl within the flick. She have been attending shoots and seeking to learn acting lessons from the crew. She is yet to shoot for the film. Such a lot of fresh faces were approached for the role but finally Surabhi bagged it.” Earlier even Monal were approached for the nature but she didn't sign on.

Lawrence, Taapsee pair up for Muni 3

After a temporary hiatus Taapsee is back to Kollywood along with her upcoming movie Marathen Mannithen and Ajith-Vishnuvardhan’s film. Now the actress is pairing opposite with Lawrence for Muni 3.Taapsee is roped in because the female lead of the movie and Muni 3 is ready to be launched within the month of December while the film will hit the floors from January. Muni and Kanchana were horror thrillers released in 2007 and 2011 respectively. Despite the mixed reviews both the films went directly to become super hits in Tamil and Telugu.

Post the success of Muni and Kanchana, choreographer turned actor and director Raghava Lawrence is prepared to direct Muni 3.

Sony grabs ‘Kadal’ audio!

Sony Music has got the audio rights to Mani Ratnam’s Kadal. They've managed to snatch it from Gemini Music whose parent company Gemini Film Circuit are marketing the film .Ashok Parwani, Head South, Sony Music said, “We are more than pleased to be related to this type of magnificent project and to work with Mani Sir. We go along way with A R Rahman and it's our 3rd project with him this year. We're confident music enthusiasts will appreciate the music up to the film.”

Parwani also added that they will release four albums of AR Rahman in 2012 / 2013. The market buzz is that Sony Music had paid an exceptional Rs 2 Crore for the audio rights, though Sony spokesperson refused to divulge figures.

Pizza made in digital and on a shoe string budget of Rs 1.50 Crore has created history of types. It’s dubbing rights in Telugu (Rs 72 lakhs), Kannada (12 lakhs) and Hindi (Rs 1.10 Crore) has gone now for Rs 1.94 Crore . Pizza becomes the primary Indian film which has made extra money from dubbing rights (Hindi, Telugu and Kannada) than cost of the film!

Trisha in Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa 2?

Trisha Krishnan’s memorable role of Jessie in Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa might appear before you again. Yuvan Shankar Raja might be performing live for the primary time on Malaysian shores on Saturday, 15 December 2012 on the Bukit Jalil Stadium, Kuala Lumpur. Yuvan’s concert on the inaugural Kuala Lumpur International Indian Music Festival (KLIMF) 2012 features top 20 Indian singers backed by a whole orchestra of 30 members. KLIMF 2012 is a marathon festival ranging from 12 noon to twelve midnight with Yuvan and 15 other international acts.
