A new association have been formed by the Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchepuram, North Arcot, South Arcot and Pondicherry Theatre Owners Association.R Paneerselvam of Rohini Theatre would be the president while Munikanniah of Sathyam Cinemas is the vice-president.
One of the most well liked stars in Tamil cinema Karthi who was named “VetriNayagan” by theatre owners inaugurated the brand new association by symbolically lighting the normal lamp.
Karthi was shooting in Mumbai flew all the way down to Chennai to participate within the event. Said Karthi : “ Theatres have played a large role inpopularising my movies in Tamil Nadu, and i've visited most of them throughout the release of my films.”
R Paneerselvam the president of the brand new theatre owners association said: “ Our aim is to enhance the theatres and Tamil cinema. We wish to eradicate pirated CD’s and let theatres function successfully. The theory is all to tackle various issues facing the theatre industry in TN.”
