Vijay’s Thuppakki has did not beat Hindi movie Son of Saradar at UK Box Office. The Tamil movie, which competed with the Hindi film within the first three days, couldn't overpower the Ajay Devgn starrer film within the six-day weekend. The Vijay’s film could only beat Son of Sardar at the opening time out of six days. It's largely for the reason that Tamil movie released in very less collection of screens in comparison to the Hindi film. While Thuppakki managed to gather £1,34,280 (Rs 1.18 crores) in 25 screens, Son of Sardar is far sooner than the AR Murugadoss directorial flick by raking in £2,14,303 (Rs 1.88 crores) in 72 screens (features a few screens in Ireland).
On the outlet day, Thuppakki collected £31,459 (approximately Rs 27.40 lacs) and beat the Ajay Devgn starrer film by a margin of Rs 2.31 lacs. The Bollywood movie made £31,459 (Rs 25.09 lacs) within the UK. However, it needs to be noted that the per screen average of Thuppakki is larger than Son of Sardar.
The per screen average of Tamil film is operating out to £5,371 (Rs 4.69 lacs) and for Son of Sardar, the per screen average stands at £2,976 (Rs 2.61 lacs). It clearly shows Thuppakki is getting good occupancy in theatres in comparison to the Hindi film. Meanwhile, Silambarasan’s Podaa Podi has earned £20,252 (Rs 17.74 lacs) in 9 screens on the UK Box Office.
