One of essentially the most successful directors within the Indian film industry, Shankar is celebrating his birthday today, August 17th, 2012. He entered the film industry as a director with Gentleman and this film turned out to be grand success on the box office raking in profits in addition to awards.Since then, Shankar has directed and produced plenty of films. The smash hits in his long career include Kadhalan, Mudhalvan, Anniyan, Sivaji, Enthiran and Nanban. Shankar may be a shrewd producer having produced quite a few blockbusters like Kadhalan, Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi and Veyyil. He's currently directing the Vikram starrer I and is awaiting the discharge of the 3D version of Sivaji.
