She might need acted in over 150 T.V. ads and modeled, but admittedly still had a difficult time facing the camera in her first full-length film. However, the actress says she was put comfortable by her co-stars, who impressed her with their levels of commitment.“I was especially impressed with the commitment shown by Vishal to get his role right in Avan Ivan, and saw the trials he went through while playing a squint in the course of the film. I always believe that an actor must absorb roles that challenge him or her, and doff my hat off to Vishal for his commitment,” she says, impressed.
Citing directors Mani Ratnam, Bala and Gautham Menon as a few of her favourites, Janani says that she wish to play a personality that will stand out in public memory for years to come.
“When one thinks of Sridevi, it's Moondram Pirai that immediately involves mind, and Urvashi is synonymous along with her role in Michael Madhana Kama Rajan (MMKR). I NEED to play the same role, that allows you to be etched in public memory for years to come,” she says, talking about her ambitions.
