Udhayanidhi’s next production Neer Paravai could be a small film relating to budget but it surely seems like the project is attracting big names. We hear that acclaimed Bollywood actress and director Nandita Das, was cast in a vital role within the film to be directed by Seenuramasamy. The director’s previous film Thenmerku Paruvakkatru won the National Award last year.
Says Seenu, “As in my previous film, which had Saranya Ponvannan in a very important role (for which she bagged the National Award for Best Supporting Actress), Neer Paravai too has a personality that required an actress of substance and that i felt that Nandita have a tendency for the role.” However, he declines to show the character of her role and only mentions that it'll be strikingly different from what the actress has done to this point.
The director had met the actress when she was in Bangalore a while back and had narrated the script to her. “I was elated when she agreed directly after hearing the role as she is understood to be very choosy in selecting her projects. She is going to be shooting with the unit for 10 days in May,” he reveals.
This would be the fourth Tamil film for the award-winning actress, who earlier wowed us in films like Thankar Bachan’s Azhagi, Mani Ratnam’s Kannathil Muthamittal and the critically-acclaimed Vishwa Thulasi. She was recently a part of Santosh Sivan’s English film Before The Rains.
Neer Paravai, which stars Vishnu and Sunaina within the lead, was speculated to start shoot by February but because of the recent strike and an injury suffered by Vishnu, the shoot was postponed by two months. The unit has currently left for Tiruchendur to shoot the coastal romance.
