The historical fantasy film Urumi, directed by the National Award-winning cinematographer/filmmaker Santhosh Sivan, which garnered numerous attention when it was released in Malayalam, Telugu and English, is coming to Tamil screens with the title Urumi — Padhinaintham Nootrandin Uraivaal.Biggie Thaanu has bought the global rights to this magnum opus and is releasing it with maximum prints. Made at the cheap of Rs 30 crore, the movie opened to good reviews from both critics and the audience, and contours Prithiviraj, Prabhu Deva, Arya, Madrasapattinam Alex, Genelia, Vidya Balan, Nithya Menon and Tabu.
“Urumi is a mega-budget flick, that's certain to entertain the hundreds. I'VE planned to advertise it like all other big Tamil film and release it soon,” said Thaanu. He added, “Yet another film produced in my banner – the Vijay-starrer Thuppakki, is shaping up well and can be a treat for mass-action lovers.”
Sasikumran has written the dialogues in Tamil and ace lyricist Vairamuthu has penned all of the six songs. Deepak Dev is the composer.
